I know, I know, it's been a long time since I was last on here and I am sorry if you have missed me, but if you did you could have always emailed me :o).

I have been here just over a year now and I am still loving my new home. I have been to the kennels a couple of times while mum and dad go on holiday and whilst i am nervous when i first go in there i soon settle down and then i have a great time. My friend Gael comes here often and it is nice to have a playmate to run over the field with and when Gael isn't here i have my best friend Benson the Boxer and Max the Golden Retriever.

I am learning new things all the time, i can now go upstairs however i haven't mastered the art of staying up there but i am sure that will happen. I can now go the the front door when the door bell rings and i really enjoy meeting new people. x

I know that this is meant to be a doggie blog, but I just want to say RIP Mitzy and I am going to miss you and thank you for helping me to settle in. love and licks George xxxx

I'm missing you FLY already
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Saturday, 6 December 2008

I am sad to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That Fly is going back to the Dogs Trust. He has been with us now for just over 6 weeks and on the whole Fly is a lovely affectionate little boy, but as his true personality came out it was becoming very obvious that Fly was showing signs of being jealous and possessive. He would growl at Brian when he came home from work, he would not allow me to make a fuss of George, when i did he would barge straight in and demand a fuss for himself, he even growled at George because George wanted to lay beside me. He has even started to take an unhealthy interest at my cat and now she wont come and see me as he growls at her. He is a fantastic little boy and i know that it will hurt to drop him off Monday but i know that hand on heart i believe that he needs to be with just one person or a couple without any kids or other animals and then he will get the fully attention that he needs and deserves. Fly your a lovely little boy and I'm going to miss you. I don't know if George will miss you, that is a different matter.
Good luck and i hope you find the home you deserve

I'm not a happy DOG

This new addition called Fly has been here nearly 2 weeks now and overall I am not very happy.
He's nicked my bed down by the sofa next to my mum, so now I have to lay on the floor by dad's feet, which is OK but he doesn't make a fuss of me like my mum does. Also he gets kisses and cuddles, to be fair I do to but I just shrug them off. Also and this really annoys, he has taken to sticking his head out of the cat flap, THAT IS MY JOB!!!!!! I like to see my mum off when she goes to work and then I like to welcome her home, but no, Fly has to do it now. I can hear her calling me but i am not allowed to get passed him, so as you can see I am feeling pretty p***ed off. Today we went doggie training, it was raining and muddy and I was not a happy doggie, as i didn't want to be there I really played up, I barked all the time, I wouldn't sit down, I wanted to sniff all the other dogs and basically I just wanted to cause as much trouble as possible and it worked, however, they decided to buy a half check collar and that soon taught me, oh well cant win them all. Fly on the other hand was left with dad and he wasn't happy either cos all he wanted to do was be with MY MUM. We all came home and me and Fly have just laid on the floor and haven't moved.
One good thing that may have come out of this is that mum has been advised to take me and fly for our walks separately, which means that I get to spend some quality time with my mum but also I get to go on my own which means that all the fighting with Fly on our walks has paid off.
I should just tell you that I don't really fight him but I like to chase and nip him all the time, I don't hurt him and he must like it cos he keeps coming back for more, but I know my mum doesn't like it when I do it. I don't think Fly is going to last here, well not if I have anything to do with it.

What is going on here?????????????? How come i had to wait 5 weeks before i was let off the lead and yet here he is only 3 days in and he's off the lead for his walks, this is not fair, and why is it now that he is off the lead, he finds the need to come and chase me and growl at me, what i have i ever done to him? I have given up half my home to him and this is how he repays me.
We saw Benson and i ran to say hello and play with him like we always do and Fly thought it would be a good idea to chase and growl at me, if he thinks that i have giving way to him then he is mistaken, cos it just ain't happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO THERE.
I am not a happy doggie............
I dont know if i am really happy with Fly coming into my home, everything has changed my whole routine as changed, just so that we can make this Fly feel welcomed. He is not as nervous as me as he keeps creeping round my mum for a fuss and he is quite happy wandering around the house, where as me i just like to stay in one place........At least i am let off the lead for my walks, which is a lot more than he is..........ha ha.

My mum went out with her friend last night so we were home alone with dad, which was ok but i was really glad when she came home. She let me straight out and i did my business but Fly wouldn't so she took him for a walk and i heard her saying that he still didn't do a wee. I just hope he doesn't do anything in the night as i have to share a room with him and i like my bed warm and dry, not warm and wet.

Mum keeps telling me that i am her favourite boy, and do you know what I AM!!!!!!!!

Fly Has Arrived

I dont know what is going on here, but the dog that i saw the other day is here NOW in my garden, what the heck is it doing here. My mum came home let me out to do my business and then she went to the car, opened the boot and out jumped this dog. I thought it was my girl Gael at first but then noticed that it was a totally different colour and once i sniffed where only dogs sniffed i knew it wasn't my girl. Once we got all of that out of the way he was very pleasnant not threating at all, he came into the house had a look around and then laid on the floor. It's nice for me to have a play mate as i do get lonely when my mum and dad are not here and as long as he knows that i am TOP DOG then i am sure that we will get a long fine.

I'm going to have a chat and lay down a few house rules
Speak later

My new playmate

This is going to be my new friend, his name is Fly.

Today i went with my mum and dad to the Dogs Trust in West London. I was really good in the car, i just curled up in the back and went to sleep, every now and again i popped up to say hello but i didn't make a sound. My mum was really pleased with me i think, cos she kept singing to me, she kept telling me she loved me.....Silly woman.

When we got to the Dogs Trust i remember where i was, i was really nervous as i didn't know if i was being taken back there. We went through the door and Adam came over to say Hello, i remember Adam he helped look after me amongst all the other wonderful staff there. Lots of the staff came to see me and say hello and they all said that i looked well, that's all the hot dogs i keep eating.

We then went back outside and it was raining and i took to this pen, i remember this pen, i started whinning, i don't want to be here, what is happening. Oh look another dog has come to join us, i am told his name is Fly and he is nervous like me. I saw my mum make a big fuss of him and she even gave him some of my hot dogs, how dare she. We got to know each other as dogs do and then we ignored each other, i was later told that is a good thing, as we are more likely then to get on when he comes to stay.

We are going to pick him up next weekend...................... So Fly welcome to my home and i hope we become really good friends.

Sunday 26th November

My mum still isn't here, it is not the same. My dad takes me out for a walk but when he lets me off the lead i keep about 10 feet in front of him, he keeps trying to tempt me with hot dogs and in the end i took it. When we got home he had a little chat with me, he told me that mum was in this place called a hospital and that she would be coming home today................ I cant wait to see her.

She's home i cant believe it she is home, as soon as she walked through the door i felt much more relaxed and everything is back to normal.........................oh what bliss. I'm tired now after my weekend i think that i will just have a dog nap
Night night

Saturday 25th October

I don't like today, my mum left the house with dad in the morning and then didn't come home with dad I don't know where she is but i don't feel very comfortable, i don't know what to do i am just pacing the house and running around in circles outside. I wont come indoors even though i keep being called i just want to stay out here until she comes home. I didn't even want to come in for my food, but my belly got the better of me so i eat my food and then sulked. WHERE IS MY MUM???????????

Monday, 20 October 2008

I might be getting a new playmate. I heard my mum on the phone today, the Dog Trust rang her asking her how i was getting on and did they or have they considered getting a new playmate for me.............See i'm so famous now everyone wants to be my friend :-), anyway i heard them talking about about this nervous collie who is looking for a home, he is not as bad as me as he is comfortable around people it is just outside noises that he is not too sure off. Anyway they are going to send details and hopefully i might get to meet him and if everything goes ok i might have a new playmate........... Dont worry Gael you are still my girl xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dog Training

I would just like to say a BIG Hello to Dona, hope that you are enjoying reading my blog! Thank you for staying with me.
I had my first dog training day on sunday, i was really nervous being put in the car, but i just laid down and hoped that i wasn't going to go to somewhere that i didn't like. When i was let out of the car i was greeted by other dogs, it was great, i got to say hello and have a good sniff. After a little while we went into this large field and there was about 6 other dogs standing there, i didn't know what to do, all i saw was my mum making stupid faces and saying things to me that i didn't understand. Anyway i was good at some things, like standing from a sitting position, being told to sit, but everything else i was either ok or need to do better next time round. After 2 hours i came away totally knacked which my mum and dad was pleased about cos i was quiet for the rest of the day.

Hi Daisydog and Alex

So nice to hear from you and it is also nice to know that i am not only one who is really nervous. I still get very nervous around children and strangers but the very nice people that i meet on all my walks now know me and i am getting to know them and i am confident enough now to let them stroke me. There is one dog who is a Boxer called Benson ( there you go i have named dropped you again) who i know has treats on him so as soon as i see him now i run straight up to him cos i know he is going to give me something yummy.
My favourite treat when i am out walking is HOTDOGS yum yum, Toni cuts them all up and puts them in a little bag and when i was out walking on the lead she would feed me them every now and again and then once off the lead she kept calling me back all the time for my treat, i loved it i couldn't believe it would be so much fun. Now i have my treats all the time, she even got me doing a little trick, i am such a quick learner that after a couple of go's i now do it automatically without thinking.
I am positive that your owner Alex would love you let you off, it is all about having a little bit of confidence and making sure that you go somewhere quiet, however if you read the bit about where i went missing for 20 mins or so you owner may never let you off the lead at all ........ only joking. Please let me know who you get on, i would love to hear from you...... George xxxxxx

Did you see it? Did you see it? Don't i look very handsome? Well i think i do anyway. If you don't know what i am talking about, i am talking about the piece the DOG TRUST did on me for their quarterly magazine, they did a very nice write up and the photos make me look sooooooooooo good.

Sorry that i haven't been on here for a while but i have been so busy enjoying myself. There is so much to tell you but i would be on here for hours so i will try and break it down into small junks and then hopefully you wont get bored with me.

I am going to start going to Dog Training on a Sunday morning, apparently my Recall leaves a lot to be desired. There was this one afternoon i went missing over the fields for 20 minutes, all i did was pick a scent up and i thought it would be fun to follow it, i could here my mum shouting but i thought whilst i could still hear her then i know i would be OK, after a while i got fed up with sniffing out something that i couldn't see so i decided to go back, my mum was not very happy at all, she made me walk behind her all the way back home. After that i was kept on the lead for the next couple of days, after that i was let off again but not for long, i think i pushed my luck too far that time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One day i was being let off and i thought that i was being really good, i came back every time i was called and i didn't wander off too far either, and what did i get to my good behaviour???????????????????????????? a week in the kennels.

THEY decided that they would jet off on holiday and leave me, whilst i knew where i was going i didn't realise that i would be left there so long but i was really pleased to see them when they came to pick me up and to this day i don't wander too far and always come or well nearly always come to them when they call, cos if i don't i might end up going back there.

Everybody who knows me now have remarked on how much i have changed, they all say that i am much more confident and it looks as though i am putting weight on, my coat is really glossy and shiny. I am really spoilt but only with love, not so much with treats and it seems that i suffer with Colitis, so I'm much happier with just plain food and lots of cuddles and fuss, every now and again i get a treat and when i do i savour it.

Today i went out for a walk and i met my good friend BENSON ( happy now that you have been mentioned? ) i don't know these dogs only want to know me, in the hope that i may make them just a famous as me, anyway, i was going for a walk and Benson and his owner Roy came to, we went over the fields and as soon as we were let off the leads we started running all over the place, now, i don't why i do it, i have been told it is because i am being a puppy, but when i get excited and start playing i nip, i try really hard not to hurt but i just cant help myself so we were rolling around and i was nipping at Bensons neck, Benson was loving it, we were really going for it and the next thing i knew my mouth was full of blood it looked like i cut my gums, i don't now how i did it, but once i was cleaned up i was put back on the lead as was Benson. You would have thought i would learn my lesson, but let me tell you that i didn't cos i went and did the same all over again once i was let off the lead again.

Anyway i have talked enough now, i need a rest. Hope to speak to you again soon

Night Night George xxxx

I've discovered that i like Tea, it started with me licking the last bits in the cup and then my mum put some in my bowl and it was lovely, so i hope i get my daily cuppa now. Hope that you are all ok and having fun

Wednesday, 20 August 2008

Hello, sorry that i haven't been on here for a while, but i have been having a great time. I am really learning to trust and it feels great i am sooooooooooo relaxed. I even lay on my back now with my legs in the air waiting to be fussed.

I really like this playing lark, this morning my mum (as i like to call her now) wasn't taking any notice of me, not even whilst i was going 100mph around the garden, so i barked to get her attention she then came out and started throwing the ball it was great fun, i now understand that i have to watch the ball in the air to see where it lands in order to go running after it and i bring it back and drop the ball at her feet, i don't think she likes the ball cos every time i bring it back she throws it away again.

I'll never understand women or humans

Monday, 4 August 2008

I've learnt 3 new things this weekend.

I like swimming - we went for walk around the fields near where we live and there was this big dirty pond, i only wanted a drink from it but ended up swimming half way out, it was great fun, i even went back again for second helpings............ Toni called me a smelly old git, don't know what that was all about.

I am able to go for walks with other people, Toni and Brian went out for the evening and left me home all alone, she asked her friend Kay if she would let me out so that i could do my business, she did better than that she took me for a walk and her dog Winston came along to, wasn't to sure about that at first cos the last time we met he decided to stick his head up my bottom and i let him do that a couple of times, if you are not too sure about this procedure it is just away of us dogs saying hello and getting to know each other, well he really wanted to get to know me but as i was a little bit nervous i let him know that i had enough of this act of saying hello, but i needn't have worried cos everything was just fine and we got along famously. In fact they are all going on holiday together soon and Winston and me are going to the same kennels i wonder if they will put us next to each other?

I like to be brushed, i didn't like it before because i was so thin it hurt, but now that i am filling out a bit more i don't mind it, when i go for walks i like to run up and down the ditches in between the trees and i get covered in grass seeds, it doesn't bother me but for some reason it does Toni as she has to pick them all out of me, this weekend i got covered there were so many that it would have taken her ages so she used a brush and it was lovely, i just laid there with my eyes closed................... oh what heaven

I'm going to be famous, I'm going to be famous, OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO BE FAMOUS!!!!!
I can see it now, everybody is going to want my Paw-o-graph, bitches (female dogs) are going to come rushing up to me just so that they can touch me.
I'll have to make sure my coat is nice and clean , good job Toni brought me my new collar and lead, it's electric blue, which goes really well with my nice shiny black coat............. I'm going to look gorgeous.
We received a phone call today from Head office at the Dogs Trust and they asked for some photographs and they asked Toni if it was OK if they do an article on me. I cant believe that they want to write about me. I wonder what they are going to say?????????

Things have been going well, I had my first big outing, i went to the next village for a training session, i did really well, the trainer was really pleased with me, that was good cos i think that he thought i would be useless and not interested in doing anything, but i proved him wrong ha ha

I've started playing with a ball, when the ball is thrown, i run after it and bring it to Toni, i am finding this great fun.

I have stopped pulling on the lead to much and walk quite well, i really love my walks it is the only time that i feel really free, i am really happy.

Anyway, i am really tired now and i have to practice my pawograph

Hope you are all well
